Qigong… this could take a minute, but hang with me.
Qi is the Light, energy, or life force that flows through all things.
Gong means skill, work, cultivation, or mastery.
In many ways, we already work with Qi every day informally through our thoughts, emotions, movement, breath, relationships, and connection to life itself. But the formal practice we are talking about here is Medical Qigong.
Medical Qigong is a moving meditation — or meditative movement — that works to transform the body, mind, spirit, physically, spiritually, emotionally, and energetically. It is powered by YOU connecting with the Heavens (Divine Source Energy) and Earth through breath, visualization, intention, movement, stillness, and awareness.
One of my favorite ways to describe Qigong is through the image of cultivating a garden.
In a full and healthy garden, there is a master gardener who lovingly tends the space with knowledge, care, and consistency. At the very least, they pull the weeds, plant what they want to grow, and nourish the garden daily with sunlight, water, nutrients, and attention.
Qigong works in a similar way.
We clear what no longer serves (or gets in the way) of a balanced body, mind, and spirit while cultivating vitality, virtues, peace, health, and high vibrational Light. Over time, we tend to our inner landscape more consciously.
Qigong is more than an exercise. It is a practice, a daily cultivation.
One of my favorite videos does a beautiful job explaining The Physiology of Tai Chi and QiGong.
